Terms of Service

The agreement between you and the company that makes Converside. Thirteen sections, written to be read once by the person who is actually going to pay for it.

converside.com/termsVersion 1.0Effective 1 October 2026

The whole thing, briefly

Converside is a subscription for one person — $87 up front — $29 a month by default, $39 a month if you would rather pay monthly — cancellable from the app in a few seconds. You get a free trial to judge it on a real call: 30 minutes from your first Start, or 50 generated replies, whichever comes first.

We hold six pieces of data about you and section 8 lists all six. Section 7 is the one we care most about: do not use Converside on a person who has not agreed to it.

This summary is not the agreement. The numbered sections are.

01

Who we are

Converside is made and sold by Bytek LLC, 1111B S Governors Ave STE 28322, Dover, DE 19904, United States, a limited liability company registered in Delaware. In this document “we”, “us” and “Converside” mean that company and its macOS application and website; “you” means the person using them.

Bytek LLC is the party you contract with, the controller of the little data we hold about you, and the name on your card statement and every receipt. Billing runs through Stripe; the name on the charge is ours, not Stripe’s.

Installing the app or creating an account means you accept these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of an employer, you are telling us you are allowed to bind it.

Two other pages form part of this agreement: the Privacy Policy and the Sub-processor list. Where this page and either of those disagree about what happens to your data, they win. And if the pricing page ever offers you better terms than this page does, you get the better of the two.

02

What Converside does, and what it does not do

Converside is a macOS application. During a conversation it listens to the audio your computer plays — the other side of the call — transcribes that audio on your own machine, notices a question, waits for the pause, and suggests a reply you could choose to say out loud.

Nothing starts until you press Start. It is a button you press at the moment it matters, not a checkbox in an onboarding flow you click past.

It never asks for your microphone. The permission is not declared in the application, so macOS cannot prompt for it or grant it, and you can confirm that yourself in System Settings. No audio is written to disk at any point.

Generating a reply needs the internet. When a reply is generated, the text of the recognised question, the last three turns of the conversation before it and the short About-you note you wrote go to our server and on to the provider named on our Sub-processor page. Audio never makes that trip, and the rest of the transcript never leaves this Mac.

Converside is not an authority on anything it says. A suggested reply is generated text. It can be wrong, out of date, generic, or badly suited to the room you are in. You read it, you decide, and you speak for yourself.

It is not legal, medical, financial, immigration or employment advice. It is also not a recorder, a transcript service or a note-taker, and it will not become one by accident.

03

Your account

Converside needs an account, and asks for it first — before macOS asks you for anything. You sign in with an email address; there is no password to choose, forget or leak — we send a link, or a six-digit code if you would rather type one. Sign-in opens your system browser, never a window inside the app, and hands you back to the app.

One account is one person. Up to three devices can be signed in at a time, and you can remove a device from inside the app whenever you want. Do not pass your account, your sign-in link or your six-digit code to anyone else.

You must be at least eighteen to hold an account, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher — the same line the Privacy Policy draws.

You can delete your account from inside the app, without asking us. Deletion removes your email address, your plan, the reply count, your device list and your UTC offset, and ends any subscription at once rather than at the end of the period; what happens to the rest of that period is the refund rule in section 6. What survives is what tax law requires us to keep: your invoices, the payment reference that finds them (the Stripe customer and subscription references) and the per-period totals. The account pane says exactly that before you confirm.

04

The free trial

A new account gets one free trial: thirty minutes from your first Start, or fifty generated replies, whichever comes first. The clock runs from that first Start, and pressing Stop does not pause it. One per account, ever — not one a month, not one per device, not one per reinstall. It exists so you can judge Converside on a real call before you pay for it, and it is the whole app, not a cut-down one, all four shortcuts included.

When either runs out, the app says Trial used, and Start still works. Converside still listens, still transcribes on your machine and still answers from the answers you verified yourself; only generated replies wait for a plan.

An earlier version of this website described a free tier in much stronger terms. We retired it before launch and published a dated note saying so, which stays up: converside.com/changelog/plan-change.

05

Subscription, price and renewal

Converside Pro is a subscription. There is one plan; you choose how often you pay for it.

PlanYou payRenewal
Pro, quarterlyDefault$87 up front — $29 a monthRenews every three months
Pro, monthly$39 a monthRenews every month
Pro, annual$288 up front — $24 a monthRenews every twelve months

Prices are in US dollars and shown before tax. Tax is added at checkout where it applies. Checkout opens in your browser, runs on Stripe’s own pages and asks for your billing address; Stripe works out the tax from it, shows it before you pay and collects it with the payment.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, until you cancel. Before an annual plan renews, Stripe emails you a reminder. We charge the payment method held by Stripe, our payment processor. The full card number never reaches us.

If a renewal payment fails, generated replies are paused until you update the payment method: Update payment in the app opens Stripe’s billing page. Start, transcription on your machine and your verified answers keep working while they are.

If we change the price of a plan you are on, we email you at least thirty days first, and the new price only applies from your next renewal. Cancel inside that window and it never reaches you.

There are no credits, no minute packs and nothing that expires unused. There is no Team tier at launch; for a team, write to contact@converside.com.

06

Cancellation and refunds

Cancel from the app, at any time: Setup › Account › Cancel subscription opens Stripe’s billing page, where it takes one press. We will not ask you to email anyone, call anyone, or answer a survey on the way out.

You can have your first payment refunded within 14 days, no reason needed. Renewals are not refunded; cancelling stops the next charge, and Pro runs to the end of the period you paid for.

To ask for that refund, write to contact@converside.com from the address on your account. Deleting your account ends a paid plan at once (section 3), and the same rule applies: inside the 14 days the first payment is refunded, and after them the rest of the period is not.

When you cancel, the app shows the date Pro ends. You can resume before that date the same way: Resume subscription in the app opens the same page.

Consumer law where you live may give you more than this section does, and you keep it.

If we change these terms, our sub-processors or the price in a way you do not accept, you can cancel and stop using Converside before the change takes effect. We email you at least thirty days before any of those changes, so you have that long to decide. Cancelling then works as it does on any other day: no further charge, and Pro runs to the end of the period you paid for.

07

Acceptable use

The section this company exists for. If you only read one, read this one.

7.1  Do not use Converside on a person who has not agreed to it.

This is our own position, not a clause a lawyer made us carry. Converside exists because we think the person on the other end of a conversation has a right to know how that conversation is being conducted. Nothing starts until you press Start, and pressing it is you telling us that using it here is honest and permitted.

If the interviewer, the examiner, the counterparty, your employer, or the platform you are on has said no — or would say no if you asked — then the answer is no, and this agreement says no with them. A test that has never failed anybody yet: if you would not say out loud that you are using it, do not use it.

7.2  Where the rules already say no

You must not use Converside in an examination, a certification test, a proctored assessment, or any interview where the other side has stated that outside assistance is not allowed, or anywhere a platform’s own rules forbid it. Those rules are not ours to waive for you, and a Converside subscription is not permission.

7.3  And the ordinary list

Do not resell, sublicense or share your account. Do not automate the app or build a client that talks to our server directly. Do not work around the daily ceiling in section 9, the device limit in section 3, or the trial limit in section 4. Do not use Converside to impersonate anyone, to harass anyone, or to do something the law where you are says you may not. Do not feed it another person’s personal data you have no right to send.

7.4  What we will not build, so you need not ask

No hidden window. No invisible-to-screen-share mode. No process camouflage, no disguised name in the menu bar, no way to make Converside undetectable to the person you are talking to. Other products sell exactly those. We decline, at any price, permanently — and trying to assemble it out of what we do ship is a breach of this section.

08

Your content, and what we hold

Your content is the About-you note you write, the recognised text of the conversation during a session, and anything you type into the composer. It stays yours. We take no licence to it beyond what one request needs: send it, get a reply, hand the reply to you.

When a reply is generated, the question, the last three turns and your About-you note pass through our server for the seconds it takes. None of it is written to disk. The turns go so the reply fits what was just said; the rest of the transcript never leaves this Mac.

Our model provider does not train on data sent through its API. Who receives what, where, and for how long is set out on the Sub-processor page rather than summarised here.

Everything we store about you, in full

  1. Email address
  2. Plan
  3. Payment reference
  4. Replies this period
  5. Signed-in devices
  6. UTC offset, which sets your midnight

That is the complete list. Sign-in links, codes and device credentials are kept only as one-way hashes. The count is one total per period — there is no per-request log, which also means we cannot reconstruct what you were asked or what you were told.

09

Availability, fair use and changes to the app

You are subscribing to Converside as it is on the day you subscribe. We add things, change things and occasionally take things away. If we remove something you were paying for and you do not accept that, cancel; section 6 sets out what is refunded.

We do not promise uninterrupted service. Networks, Apple, our providers and we ourselves all fail occasionally, and a conversation assistant that is down during your call is down during your call.

Fair use: 300 generated replies in a day, enforced on our side. That is roughly seven full interviews in one day; it exists so that one account cannot run up a cost the price does not cover. Every generated request counts toward it: a suggested reply, and an answer drafted for you in Setup. Midnight is yours, set by the UTC offset your account keeps. If you reach it, the app says “300 generated replies today — the count resets at midnight.” Your verified answers keep working, and there is nothing to buy to raise it.

Generated replies need the internet. Offline, the app still listens, still transcribes on your machine and still answers from your verified answers; it says “Offline — verified answers only” and it does not sign you out.

10

Suspension and termination

You can stop at any time: cancel, sign out, delete the account. None of those require our permission.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 7, that disputes a charge we can show was valid, or that we are required by law to close. Where it is safe and lawful, we tell you why first and give you a chance to answer — we would rather fix a misunderstanding than lose a customer to one.

If we close your account for a reason that is not your fault, section 6 sets out what is refunded.

11

Warranties and limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Converside is provided as it is, and we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that a suggested reply is accurate or suitable, or that using Converside will produce any outcome — including an offer of employment.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for lost profits or opportunities, or for a job you did not get. Our total liability on any claim is capped at the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and fifty US dollars.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited: fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any right the consumer law of your country gives you and does not let us take away.

12

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction.

If the law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim where you live, you keep it. We do not ask you to waive it, and there is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver on this page.

Before you file anything, write to contact@converside.com. A person reads it, and almost everything is settled there.

13

Changes to these terms, and how to reach us

We may change these terms. If a change matters — the price, what happens to your data or who processes it, what you are allowed to do — we email every account at least thirty days before it takes effect, and the version and date at the top of this page change with it. Corrections of wording take effect when published.

Every published version is kept and dated. We do not quietly edit one that is already out.
